It was so disappointing to not be able to fall asleep last night. Whatever the reason was, I just could not fall asleep until after 3am. I guess I had so much on my mind (shopping, work, BBQ, running, textbooks to buy, etc) that my mind wouldn’t let me sleep. I woke up around 9, despite the lateness of falling asleep, and made a pepper, onion, tomato, lettuce egg omelette on light toast. I did my hula hoop exercises and showered right after, feeling good that I had plenty of time until my 12pm shift at Rita’s. Today however, is the Tour de Somerville, which means mainstreet is completely blocked down and there’s this huge parade and people from all over come into our 1/2 mile square town just to watch men bike our town over 50 times. I think it would be cool to be a part of it, so whoever was out there this hot afternoon, way to go!
Like I was saying, I was feeling good that i had plenty of time before my 12pm shift, but then my manager called saying she needed me to come in asap since they were opening early–I knew I was in for a busy day. Let’s just say I never got a chance to look at my phone or take a seat my entire 5.25 hour shift. Luckily it kept me out of the ice cream! I hussled home and changed and drove over to Bryan’s for a nice and quiet BBQ with his dad, his dad’s friends and his brother/brother’s girlfriend. I’m currently isolating myself as I write this, so you should all feel rather appreciated 😉 Bryan’s dad was so sweet and bought me black bean veggie burgers, my favorite! I had some fruit salad on the side. We might be roasting some marshmellows soon 😉
